Below are some common questions about this site. If you have a question not answered here please feel free to contact us. So what is this website about? This website is simply about saving the trees of our planet. Trees play a major role in cleaning our atmosphere and reducing the greenhouse effect, while deforestation has been a major factor in worsening the global warming. This is a very serious issue. Please read this page to learn more. We are aiming to raise at least one million dollar and donate a large amount of it (10% to 50%) to one of the organizations involved in reforestation or such similar activities. Why a million dollar? The truth is no fund is enough or too much when it comes to saving our planet. With a million dollar we try to aim high hoping that we could raise as much as possible for this noble and important cause. Is this a hoax, or are you really donating the raised money? This is not hoax, and the raised money WILL be donated. We are already researching and contacting several environmental organizations for potential collaboration and support, and will be providing our contact information when needed. We do believe in the cause for which this website is running for. Why aren't you donating the whole raised amount? We prefer not to donate the whole amount to a single organization, as we might later find other organizations which are involved in similar activities in other parts of the world. It would be wiser to keep some of the money for such future donations. What if you failed to raise the full amount? Even if we don't raise a million dollar, we will still make a donation to a selected organization if the amount is good enough. The website will remain active, though, to raise more money for further donations to other organizations in the future. How can I participate and support? With a minimal amount of only $2 dollars you can donate and plant a tree in our website. The tree is imaginary of course and will hold your name and a link of your choice if you wish, and will be displayed in our website permanently. The raised money will go eventually to an organization which is involved in planting real trees around the world. Planting a tree in our website is so easy, you don't even need to register or open an account or supply any of your personal information. Just click here and select your planting options or the amount you wish to donate, pay through Paypal or with your credit card, and your tree will appear instantly in our website. Did I see trees planted for $0? How can I plant a free tree? Every visitor to the website currently has a 90% chance to find the Free planting option enabled. This percentage could be modified at any time in the future. You can plant a free tree only if you find this option enabled in the Plant a Tree page. Can I plant more than 1 tree in your site? Yes, you can plant as many trees as you want in our site. Can I plant more than 1 tree at once? Sorry, at the mean time we don't offer planting several trees in bulk. Can I chose the type (image) of the tree I want to plant? You can select your tree image only if you chose at least the $5 planting option ($5, $10, and Other). Free and $2 planting options get random trees. What is the difference between the various planting options you have? Please check our planting page to find out all the features of our various planting options. In general, higher planting options make you tree more distinctive and visible. What are the Luckiest Tree boxes featured on the main page of your site? The two trees featured in these boxes are the ones which are planted for the highest price so far in our site. The owner of these two trees will have the honor of having them displayed in these boxes on the main page permanently as long as they are still the highest priced, until another user outbids them by planting a new tree for a higher price. Can I supply my own tree image to plant in your site? Unfortunately this is not available right now. Will my tree, name and link be displayed permanently on your website? Yes. We will try our best to keep this website alive as long as possible, not just in order to raise more sufficient funds, but to bare witness to all of those who contributed to saving our world. What type of link can I post on my tree? If you chose to include a link on your tree, the link must not point to a website that contains any sexual, illegal or inappropriate content. We have the right to remove any link or name we find inappropriate without prior notice, where in such case you won't be able to replace the link or claim a refund. This site was something else when it first came out .. The domain name was initially purchased for another project which didn't last more than few weeks.
